Please make sure you are using some of your personal IT time to develop your maths and english learning - you can do this at home and at school in the IT suite at lunchtimes. All numeracy and literacy groups have been given homework which we expect to be completed and returned for the first day back after the holiday. Mr Shaw's numeracy group have two arithmetic tests - one for each week. Make sure you check carefully when you have finished. Every little bit will help. Really important for your development and of course enjoyment that you are all doing home reading. Make sure it is something that you are really enjoying - there's nothing worse than reading something that is dull and boring.
If they are not available then there is always the option of using Google searches. It is really important that the homework is carried out carefully, neatly and above all accurately. We are going to need plenty of newspapers and a full roll of loo paper for our DT project.

There are still a few people who have not got a shoebox. I hope everyone has got their info for their art work this week. Any old newspapers from home would be greatly appreciated. We break up for half term this week. You can do this either at home or at lunchtime. Essential that all homework is completed and returned the next day. It's an important part of the lesson when we go through the homework together. And finally Good to see though that people are still maintaining the push by doing the tasks that we are giving them. Please make sure that you are doing plenty of Sam Learning - and lots of you still need to practice your times tables using TT Rock Stars or other 'stuff'!
Everybody is going to need a shoe box for our DT project. Please bring any extra you might have. Please make sure that all homework tasks are: put in your home bags, taken home, completed, returned to your bag In swimming, we are going to be developing our life-saving skills and how to stay safe should we fall into cold water. Because of this, the children need to bring pyjamas or a t-shirt and shorts, as well as their swimming costumes.
No denim, onesies or fleece. We were honoured to be joined by Sergeant Peter Waters who has officiated the Remembrance Service in Ossett for many years. To our surprise, Sergeant Waters performed a full service for us, including the minute's silence and invited us all to join in the exhortation.
The Parade | Reading A-Z
Two children were then chosen to lay the wreath on behalf of all children in all schools in Ossett. All the children then planted a cross at the base of the cenotaph. Each cross bore the name of one of the men from Ossett who lost their lives in the Great War. It was a moving and poignant ceremony which all children felt honoured to be a part of. Many thanks to Sergeant Waters for enabling us to experience a Remembrance Service.
Year 6 children visited the war memorial in Ossett on Monday afternoon.
It was a lovely service and all of the children were very respectful and a great credit to our school. Tuesday sees the girls taking part in a High Five netball tournament at Southdale and the boys are playing Holy Trinity on Thursday home fixture Worksheets need to be returned to school the very next day so that we can go through them together. Make sure that you are well organised at all times - swimming kits for Tuesdays and PE kit for Friday.
If we receive lots of stuff we will of course put together extra boxes.
